The Air Cylinder
continues to extend pushing the wedge out between the Fixed Bearing and
the Movable Bearing. The last 4 inches of the wedge has a 2.5 degree angle. This
angle has a drop of approximately .157 inch. This angle multiplies the 1600
pounds of pressure produced by the air cylinder by 18 to produce 30,000
pounds of pressure at the Heater Head. This Pressure is only produced while
the wedge is on the 2.5 degree angle and the air cylinder is not yet 100%
extended. To get the full pressure applied to the part to be printed move the machine table down until the Print Head with just hits the part to be printed. Then raise the table a small amount until the die contact the part to be printed completely. Check to see of the wedge is extended until the movable roller is on the 2.5 degree angle when the part is being printed. |
